High Speed Industrial Door Case Study
Client: Hager Limited
Location: Telford
Sector: Manufacturing
Products Used: STT- S 232 (high-speed spiral door)
Who is the client?
Hager Limited, who are part of Hager Group, specialising in electrical distribution solutions for clients within the residential and commercial sectors. You’ll be familiar with their wiring accessories, lighting connections, and module devices.
They are a returning customer to EFAFLEX UK and already have experience with the many economical, ecological, and commercial benefits they bring. This project was to replace another of their existing fabric roller shutter doors with more energy-efficient and higher-performing warehouse door alternatives from EFAFLEX.
What fast action warehouse door did they choose?
Having completed a site survey, to fully understand the requirements, our Business Development Manager for the region advised Hager Limited to opt for our SST (high speed spiral doors). Pictured below, they feature clear transparent laths that allow natural daylight to flood the area for greater user safety, an enhanced working environment and improved external aesthetics.
What benefits will this high -speed industrial warehouse deliver?
The STT (high speed warehouse spiral door) represents the new generation of industrial doors; combining speed, durability, and performance. It was the first spiral high-speed warehouse door to be manufactured by EFAFLEX back in 1980s and remains unique today. Its wind shaft opens in a contactless spiral style for speed while preventing wear and minimising operating noise.
What are the key benefits of this specific door?
The STT warehouse door opens at speeds of up to 3m/s to minimise ‘keep open’ times and therefore reduce the exchange of heated or cooled air, to significantly reduce energy costs and exposure to the elements. Its swift speed also ensures reduced ingress and unwanted contaminants; ideal within a busy warehouse or logistics setting.
It also can withstand high wind load capacity and operate up to 250,000 opening cycles per year to ensure minimal downtime.
Were there any specific requirements from this project?
This was another straightforward project at Hager Limited. We are familiar with the needs of the client, and our design and installation team worked to ensure a smooth delivery through to handover.
Further projects are already being discussed with regular site visits as part of their planned maintenance contract.
