This is the second door installation we have completed for Westfield Shopping Centre based in Shepherds Bush, London. It is one of the largest urban shopping centres in Europe with more than 70 places to eat and over 250 shops.

In 2020 we installed industrial high-speed doors to upgrade their service areas to create secure and fast openings. For this project they wanted to replace their older, slower roller shutters which were no longer fit for purpose. Once again, the project was located at the service yards that open on to the surrounding busy London roads.

During the site visit it was obvious that limited headroom was an issue and so we recommended the EFAFLEX SST-US using an elongated oval, instead of spiral shaped opening design. This opening style caters for limited or restricted headroom typically found in car park environments.

Two car parking doors were designed and installed as part of the overall process to upgrade the service yard which now features ANPR cameras that activate the doors and automatically book in delivery vehicles. This has helped speed up and secure the process, leaving the adjoining roads unblocked from waiting traffic.

The SST door is capable of up to 250,000 operating cycles per year. This is ideal for Westfield’s busy service area, where reliability is vital and costly downtime is minimised thanks to the build quality of the EFAFLEX industrial doors.

The client is delighted with the result and has already received quotes for further installations.
