This is another new client to EFAFLEX UK, although they have over 30 of our industrial high-speed doors installed in their facility in Germany. This family-owned business has a heritage which dates back to 1849, and they specialise in supplying products, services and solutions within thousands of applications and around 40 market segments.

We completed a no-obligation site visit at the South Wales facility, where they had been using older-fashioned warehouse roller shutter doors. They were looking to replace and upgrade to a higher-speed warehouse door, that were automatic, less labour-intensive and more energy efficient.

We advised that the SST (high-speed spiral door design) would be most suitable for this application. The SST is designed to deliver energy efficiencies and feature heat insulation laths. Operating and opening at speeds up to 2.5 metres per second, they minimise exposure to the elements and are perfect for loading bays or as exterior doors. They can withstand the highest wind load capacity and capable of up to 250,000 opening cycles per year. The client opted to insert a number of transparent laths at eye level for additional user safety and to allow natural daylight into the building.

In addition to the environmental, and energy-saving benefits, these before and after images help to demonstrate the visual, aesthetic improvements that the SST (high-speed spiral) door brings to the project.
