Insulation Supplier
Industrial Door Upgrade
Case Study

Client: Insulation supplier
Location: Bridgend, South Wales
Sector: Manufacturing
Products Used: 1 x SST Round Spiral and 1 x SST Oval Spiral

This is the third installation we have completed for this UK-based supplier of insulation products at their South Wales facility. This time we were asked to overcome a problem to the exterior of the building, where warehouse fabric doors had been installed initially and deemed no longer fit for purpose. This is quite typical of around 60% of our projects, where the client decides to replace or upgrade from older industrial door types to more energy-efficient, durable, and modern door alternatives.

The site survey was completed in October 2021, during which we measured the existing apertures and gathered the data ready for the manufacturing team to ensure a perfect fit, working around the existing steelwork and heating ducts above the door openings.

Two different types of door opening designs were recommended; the round spiral door blade, and the oval option both specifically designed to cater for restricted headroom and door opening space, which are often found in retrofit applications.

The images show the existing fabric curtains, which were replaced with the EFAFLEX industrial high-speed door alternatives to help improve user safety and aesthetics while driving productivity improvements for the client.
