Who is the client?
This is a new customer to EFAFLEX UK who specialise in offering products and solutions throughout the value chain for aluminium. They are a leading industrial company, that operate in 40 countries and have 32,000 employees. Here in the UK, they operate from 6 locations where a variety of tasks are performed including manufacturing, fabrication and casthouses. We were delighted to be able to assist at their Derbyshire base.
What fast action warehouse door did they choose?
Following a site visit, during which our local Business Development Manager was able to understand the specific needs for this application, a STR (turbo roll-up door) was chosen.
The client had an old roller shutter in situ, which was no longer fit for purpose. The fast action turbo door will instead significantly speed up both the opening and closing speeds to reduce ‘keep open’ time and minimise exposure to the elements in this busy warehouse environment. The old roller shutter relied on operatives shutting the door, whereas the STR will open and close automatically. This will minimise exposure and improve security.
What benefits will this high -speed industrial warehouse deliver?
The STR is ideal for manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics applications. Its fast action, opening up to 4 meters per second, vastly reduces the keep-open time, thereby minimising exposure to the elements. Consider this in energy-saving terms. Minimising open time will significantly reduce heat loss and, therefore, can help reduce energy costs by up to 50%, as well as minimise ingress and the risk of contamination.
The door can open remotely, automatically or via sensors without the need for manual handling; again, this will reduce open time and improve user safety and labour savings.

Were there any specific requirements for this project?
This was an uncomplicated project and similar to around 60% of our installations where we are simply replacing an old roller shutter for a more efficient, effective, and economical EFAFLEX alternative that will speed up operations, help improve user safety, and significantly reduce energy costs.
