Who is the client?
Intelli-Park are a major player in the UK with around 84,000 vehicles entering their car parks on a typical Monday. As is similar across the parking sector, Intelli-Park wanted to update their facilities in order to improve the customer experience. They had a traditional roller shutter in situ, that was prone to break down and failure. Deemed no longer fit for purpose, Intelli-Park wanted to replace the old, slower, less energy efficient roller shutter, with a fast action, rapid rise door that would minimise unwanted or unauthorised access to their busy Covent Garden facility.
Intelli-Park operate over 2,000 sites across the UK and aim to provide customers with a seamless, stress-free parking experience.
What benefits will this fast action door deliver?
Having completed a complimentary site survey, doors from the EFAFLEX PS Series were chosen. These are high-speed industrial doors that have been specifically designed to overcome the challenges faced by the parking industry; fast action roller shutters, with a rapid opening and closing to quickly and effectively secure the facility.
The Covent Garden site consists of six levels, each with 150 bays to provide parking for the theatre above.
What are the key benefits of this specific door?
EFAFLEX’s PS Series fast action doors feature ground loop detection technology to ensure that the door opens automatically when a vehicle approaches and avoid bottle necks onto the surrounding roads. They all feature;
- Door opening speeds of up to 1.8 m/s – reduce unwanted access
- Capable of up to 2000,000 operating cycles per year – ideal for high volume traffic
- Door closing speeds of up to 1.0 m/s – minimises ingress of litter, vermin
- Space saving design – caters for low lintel or confined areas
- Optional ventilation laths to circulate air
- Standard sizes up to 6.1 metres (w) x 4 metres (h)
Were there any specific requirements from this project?
At this particular site, the client needed the facility to operate with minimal disruption to the paying customers to maximise revenue. The EFAFLEX team worked with traffic management to ensure the two new roller shutter type doors were installed; one at the entrance, the other at the exit point.
