Q-Park is one of Europe’s leading parking operators, holding a top three market position in every country where they operate. With over 15 million customers using their facilities across the UK and Ireland, they have built their reputation using the mantra ‘Quality in parking’ which incorporates well managed facilities, based in the heart of towns and cities.
Currently they operate within 7 countries, across 5,500 parking facilities, and managing 1.2+ million parking spaces.
Their commitment to continually improving their customer experience and high standards throughout, has led to them to being ‘Park Mark’ or ‘Park Mark Plus’ certification at most of their facilities.
What was the problem ?
EFAFLEX were called to assist at their Pimlico, London SW1 location, a secure underground car park, primely positioned within the Congestion Zone and an ideal base from which to sightsee or shop around central London.
The existing roller shutter, positioned at the entrance / exit point had suffered damaged, causing the door to become problematical; far from ideal at this busy location where congestion could have a knock-on effect on the surrounding area, as well as exposing the facility to unwanted access, increasing the risk of potential vandalism or theft.
How was it overcome ?
EFAFLEX high-speed doors are known to Q-Park as an existing customer at other UK locations. Having completed a site survey, our regional business development manager recommended the PS Series; a range of fast action doors specifically designed for use within parking environments.
Working alongside CI Property Works, the existing shutter was removed and the site prepared by removing kerbs, unwanted signage, and constructing new concrete mounting pads.
The new PS door was installed and commissioned.

The door was integrated with advanced vehicle detection technology, allowing reliable activations for cars and motorbikes, while preventing unwanted access by pedestrians. The result is a significantly improved, faster entrance, to increase the balance of security, safety, and accessibility.
The EFAFLEX PS door provides shorter open/close cycles compared to conventional shutters, to help keep vehicles moving smoothly and efficiently, meaning that both parking facility managers and their users have an improved experience and sense of security.
