Laser Scanner – EFA‑SCAN®
EFAFLEX’s EFA‑SCAN® is the world’s first laser scanner designed for high speed door openings. They feature both smart activation and safety systems in one neat device. Fitted inconspicuously into the door frame or on an external bollard it creates a 3D protective field in front of the opening, tracking people and vehicles with intelligent direction recognition. This ensures that the door opens only when something is approaching rather than passing by, which other less advanced motion sensors do.
Advanced software creates a scan pattern of 95° horizontally and 6° vertically, which takes 16,000 measurements p/s for fast and reliable opening. The system cleverly filters out rain, fog, snow and light for successful outdoor use, can tell the difference between people and vehicles and uses safety zones to prevent unsafe closures while circumventing unnecessary stoppages.

EFA-TRONIC® Control Unit
The EFA-TRONIC® control unit, which is housed in a black polycarbonate casing, is characterised by its maximum functionality, compact format and modern design. The basic equipment includes a main switch, membrane keyboard and vacuum fluorescent display including function and diagnosis display. More than 20 inputs are available as standard, as well as safety functions and three bus systems, among others.
In addition to this, EFAFLEX offers many extensions and adaptations. The EFA-TRONIC® door control system convinces due to its maximum stability, full compatibility and sufficient output reserves. The control unit is also available as a version with a durable steel casing (EFA-TRONIC® Professional).
Touch Free Hygiene Controls

Door Light Grid - EFA-TLG®
Nearly 90% of all collisions occur in the lower area of a door. The TÜV-certified EFA-TLG® infrared light grid is designed to prevent accidents before they happen. This fully self-monitoring system is built directly into the lateral door guide for complete protection and reliability.
The EFA-TLG® keeps track of the door’s closing zone up to 2.5 metres high. Its ultra-flat light grid emits infrared beams that detect the smallest of obstacles without making contact. Once an obstruction is sensed, the door instantly stops moving or won’t close at all. This innovative technology provides dependable protection for people, doors, vehicles and materials — creating a safer and more efficient environment.
