The EFA-SmartConnect hardware creates a local Wi‑Fi network for up to 10 participants secured with WPA2‑PSK
Manage your Door Uptime with EFA‑SmartConnect® Remote Diagnostics
EFA‑SmartConnect® gives you and your team a real‑time overview of every connected door through your smartphone. Issues are quickly diagnosed and the app sends digital service notifications directly to EFAFLEX, so maintenance is planned in advance. This approach reduces unplanned stoppages and helps keep operations working.
EFA-SmartConnect works on your local network so the system doesn’t require internet access. Your phone only needs an internet connection when you send a support request, which you can do over mobile data or another Wi‑Fi if your current network has no internet. Read More
Data control stays with you. Relevant information is stored on your local network, no registration is required and any data you choose to send to EFAFLEX is protected with modern end‑to‑end encryption.

The following information relates to our Remote Fault Diagnosis tool and options for use:
Wi‑Fi Router mode
Network Client mode
The door joins your existing network such as company Wi‑Fi or another door’s router network
- Network technologies and security
- Ethernet or Wi‑Fi 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GH
- WPA2‑PSK or WPA3‑SAE (personal) encryption supported
- Discovery and communication
- UDP multicast required for door discovery
- To list a door in the app, set the same multicast group on the door and in the app settings [1]
- Connectivity notes
The app cannot be used via VPN as multicast packets are not transported over VPN. The system runs without internet. Use mobile data to send support requests if your current Wi‑Fi has no internet.
QR code and recovery
Doors ship in Wi‑Fi Router mode with a QR code for access data in the delivery state. After you change the router password or connect the door to an existing network the QR code no longer grants access.
Lost your QR code?
Use Recovery mode via the app help menu, configure the door as a Wi‑Fi router then connect your phone to the new network.
What gets sent in a support request?
Door dataset such as equipment number, serial number, software version and event memory plus any details you add like photos and a contact person. Self‑assigned Wi‑Fi passwords are not transmitted.
