11 & 12 Wellington Place Case Study

Client: 11 & 12 Wellington Place

Location: Leeds

Sector: Parking

Products Used: STT-S

Problem Solved: User security

This project involved several companies including an architect, contractor and the client, with ourselves engaged to provide the bespoke high-speed door. 11 & 12 Wellington Place in Leeds is an energy efficient 254,000 sq ft office, retail, and leisure space that incorporates smart technology and state of the art aesthetics both internally and to the exterior.

The client wanted a high-speed fast opening spiral door to secure the entrance to their car park facility in order to improve the user experience and safety. They required a product that would impress with both its performance and design appeal.

What fast action industrial doors did they choose?

The initial site survey was conducted in early 20222 during which our local Business Development Manager assessed the needs of the site and application. As with all of our installations, the door was custom built to size, and here to a special colour to match the fascia of the building, a striking Anodic Bronze Axalta (AE20108000320).

The STT-S high-speed turbo door is ideal for parking environments, combining fast opening and closing speeds to minimise exposure and ‘keep open’ times. This increases security and reduces the risk of unwanted access to minimise the threat of vandalism or theft.

What benefits will this fast action door deliver?

The fast action turbo door impresses with its combined features and benefits;

  • Designed for speed, safety and security
  • Ideal for parking environments
  • Capable of up to 500,000 operating cycles a year
  • Minimises downtime

What are the key benefits of this specific door?

Due to its rapid operating speeds, the STT enables smooth and efficient entrance into the car park; no waiting, no back log, no traffic delays on the adjoining roads.

It is particularly well suited for high-volume traffic areas or where speed of logistics is vital such as loading bays, distribution centres, and facilities where safe traffic management are priorities.

Were there any specific requirements from this project?

As the door was to provide secure entrance to a parking facility, ventilation calculations had to be met to enable free air flow into the building. 11& 12 Wellington Place achieves NABERS UK Five-Star Energy Rating, and EPC ‘A’ Rating, as well as BREEAM ® Outstanding.

11 & 12 Wellington Place was built to impress, from a wellbeing, community, and sustainability perspective. The exterior is as attractive as the interior, with the EFAFLEX high-speed door being coated with a special colour to match the fascia.

To date, we have worked on 5 phases of Wellington Place in partnership with the contractor with Phase 6 due imminently.
