Stoke-on-Trent Manufacturer
High Speed Industrial Door Case Study
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Sector: Manufacturing
Products Used: STT & SST
Who is the client?
We were recently involved in a new build extension for this returning customer based in Stoke-On-Trent. The client are the UK’s leading manufacturer of livestock equipment, equestrian stabling and industrial fencing and shelters. This project was part of a £15m extension to their 38-acre purpose built facility where over 450 people are now employed.
The client was already familiar with the EFAFLEX brand, having used our products for over 5 years. Here they required a product that would reliably cater with high winds due to the site’s exposed location, finished in colours to complement the existing building.
What fast action warehouse door did they choose?
There were a number of specific requirements from this installation. The product had to have Wind Class 3 or 4 capabilities due to the site location. Exposure to the elements (keep open time) needed to be minimal in order to maintain heating (minimise energy costs) and reduce dust / ingress.
STT and SST were both chosen for this particular application; STT with its near transparent door laths allow the natural daylight to flood the environment, whereas the SST is a solid, robust, economical price-performance champion with insulated laths for energy saving. Both doors will help protect the environment against ingress and improve the working conditions.
What benefits will this high -speed industrial warehouse deliver?
Both door options are ideal for manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics applications with its spiral design guaranteeing smooth running performance and durability.
The STT meanwhile is capable of up to 200,000 operating cycles per year and impresses with its up to 3 metres per second opening speeds.
What are the key benefits of this specific door?
The specific benefits of the SST include;
- Excellent insulation and acoustic insulation
- Wind resistance class 2 – 4
- Suitable for both internal and external applications
Were there any specific requirements from this project?
This was another straightforward installation, where the sales, engineering, and installation team worked seamlessly to deliver a successful project that will see the client benefitting from the EFAFLEX product for years to come.
