High Speed Industrial Door Case Study
Location: St Austell, Cornwall
Sector: Manufacturing
Products Used:STR – 251 (high-speed spiral door)
Who is the client?
This is a new client to EFAFLEX, who first saw our high-speed industrial doors in action at a trade show in 2022. They were interested to find a new supplier as they had been experiencing continual performance and operational problems with their incumbent door and were looking for a quality alternative that would minimise disruption and down time to their busy facility.
The client is a ‘china clay’ supplier, with over 20 mines and processing facilities located around the region.
What fast action warehouse door did they choose?
Having completed a site survey to gain a full appreciation of the situation, a STR (high-speed spiral door) was deemed most suitable for this installation. This is a great all-round solution and ideal for either interior or exterior use. Capable of the highest wind load capacity, it can open at speeds of up to 4m/s and close at up to 1m/s, meaning that exposure to the elements on exterior positions is vastly reduced compared to traditional slower roller shutters.
The STR is designed to minimise exposure, and air exchange to vastly reduce energy / heating / cooling costs. It is a highly reliable product, capable of up to 250,000 operating cycles per year to give this particular client confidence and solve their on-going problems.
What benefits will this high -speed industrial warehouse deliver?
The STR is ideal for busy, high volume traffic areas. Featuring a vison window at eye level, it is particularly beneficial in warehouse scenarios where industrial equipment and staff need to co-work, side by side.
What are the key benefits of this specific door?
The STR is a fast opening warehouse door, designed specifically to minimise exposure and reduce heat loss and air exchange. Its fast action also reduces the risk of ingress or contaminants.
Were there any specific requirements from this project?
Due to the nature of this facility, the client needed a particularly quick turnaround installation period, to minimise disruption at their busy facility.
The client has already begun to enjoy the many financial, and operational benefits of the EFAFLEX door, with more projects planned for the near future.
