This is another new customer to EFAFLEX, who initially saw our commercial high-speed doors at a conference several years ago, and this is the first of several projects. The company specialise in providing bespoke controlled environments and laboratories to deliver custom cleanroom solutions for many of the universities, automotive, and pharmaceutical companies where air control and purity is essential. The environment is demanding and required interlocking between the openings to ensure their clean air environment couldn’t be compromised.
Having completed a site visit to fully understand the environment and client requirements, we specified a EFA SRT® CR-C which is a fabric roll-up high-speed door, designed for use in clean room applications. It minimises areas where dust can settle and the surfaces are easy to clean. Two months later, we returned to site to install the bespoke CRC door which formed part of a refurbished area within the university.
The university needed a door which is classified to ISO Class 6 (Class 1000 cleanroom) to maintain air cleanliness levels of a maximum of 1,000 particles (≥0.5µm) per cubic meter of inside air. The SRT-CR C is available in either ISO Class 6 or 7 and is characterised by its compact design with minimal space requirement and slim frames. It is FDA approved and has excellent sealing qualities.
With its opening speed of up to 2 meters per second, and capable of up to 200,000 operating cycles per year this door is ideal for busy cleanroom areas to ensure minimal disruption, and extended service and maintenance periods. We used a TLG light grid sensor to protect users, equipment and the door blade. The controller was fully integrated into the door frames and panel mounted into the door leg.
Available in various colours (shown here in blue) it is manufactured using heavy duty, durable Transilon fabric and available either with or without viewing windows for additional user safety.
EFAFLEX EFA-SRT® CR-C is TÜV Certified for clean room Class 6 or 7 according to ISO 14644-1.
This client had a tight schedule and limited installation clearance, but was delighted with the result and should return when further projects arise.
